Murders os Porfirio Chajito, Argemiro Chajito, Olga Dequia and Alonso Chajito The Human Rights Unit of the Prosecutor General's Office is carrying out an investigation into a number of murders committed on August 9, 1999, in the Curiche rural district, municipality of Juradó, Antioquia. The victims were Porfirio Chajito, Argemiro Chajito, Olga Dequia, and Alonso Chajito, a five year-old. Members of self-defense groups operating in the reservations zone were linked with the murders of these indigenous leaders, who were killed for having allegedly collaborated with the guerrillas. In October 2000 an indictment was issued against two individuals, one of them a member of the community, for their role as accomplices to the murders, in concurrence with aggravated homicide. An investigation of another person linked to the crimes was later closed on procedural grounds. An investigation into the murder of a child, Alonso Chajito, was also closed.   Murders of Dagoberto Antemo Santero-Basilio, Sergio Manuel Santero-Basilio, Melesio Miguel de la Cruz Cipriniano and Carlos Arturo Solano-Berna The Human Rights Unit of the Prosecutor General's Office is conducting an investigation into the murders of Dagoberto Antemo Santero-Basilio, Sergio Manuel Santero-Basilio, Melesio Miguel de la Cruz-Cipriniano and Carlos Arturo Solano- Berna. The crimes took place on June 5, 1996, at El Martillo rural district, department of Sucre. Armed, hooded men attacked the victims. On December 22, 1999, a restraining order was issued against one person for aggravated homicide in concurrence with other crimes, and attempted murder. In April 2000 another individual was indicted for conspiracy to set up vigilante groups. In June the preliminary proceedings were assessed. Two persons were indicted for aggravated homicide in concurrence with other crimes, and attempted murder. Another individual was charged with the crime of supplying self-defense firearms.
