The government of Colombia... condemns all threats, attacks and attempts against members of non-governmental human rights organizations, or of any other social, trade-union, political, civic, academic or community organizations, as well as the practice of kidnapping of civilians in general, and of members of these organizations in particular.

It also condemns all threats against public servants that work for human rights, and make an important contribution to the construction of peace through their work.

It lays emphasis on the political will of the national government to make all efforts possible to protect the life and physical integrity of the members of these organizations, by strengthening the Witnesses and Threatened Persons Protection Program of the Ministry of the Interior.
